My shortwave transceiver, beside the 6 m band, covers the amateur radio bands from 160 m (1.80 MHz) to 10 m (29.70 MHz) and logically needs antennas covering such a wide frequency span. The best suited antenna in my opinion is a symmetrically driven dipole (covered by another project). Because the antenna impedance varies over frequency, a 50 Ohm matching device is required. The project here shows a compact antenna coupler with the selection of a low band (160 m) and a high band (80 m – 10 m) side. The high band can be driven in serial and parallel capacitance mode.
